EAAS Description:

Mednytt is funded by the Department of health (DoH), through regional hospital enterprises and the Directorate for Health to assess new technologies close to introduction (0-1 years before introduction). Mednytt customers include Regional hospital enterprises, The National Cancer Guideline Programme and The National Council for Quality and Prioritisation in Health care. Mednytt also provide a database ’www.MedNytt.n’ with links to short summaries and other early warnings to assist in clinical decision making. A new initiative from the DoH will propose a system for the introduction of new and costly technologies into hospitals. It is therefore likely that the function of the described early warning system will change in the next few years.
