INAHTA

International Network of Agencies for Health Technology Assessment

EuroScan signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with INAHTA in June 2010. EuroScan and INAHTA are international organizations who share a common purpose: promoting the introduction and diffusion of safe, effective, and cost-efficient health care technologies around the world. INAHTA achieves this goal through the promotion of Health Technology Assessment (HTA); EuroScan follows the promotion and diffusion of Early Awareness and Alert Systems on new and emerging technologies (EAAS). Although INAHTA and EuroScan have different scopes both believe that their interest in pursuing this common purpose can be achieved more effectively by entering into this partnership.

INAHTA was established in 1993 and has now grown to 50 member agencies from 26 countries. The Network stretches from North and Latin America to Europe, Asia, and Australasia.

INAHTA´s mission is to provide a forum for the identification and pursuit of interests common to HTA agencies. The network aims to:

  • Accelerate exchange and collaboration among agencies
  • Promote information sharing and comparison
  • Prevent unneccessary duplication of activities

INAHTA Publications:

INAHTA Brief series is intended as a forum for member agencies to present overviews of recently published reports. Information in the INAHTA briefs is developed and submitted by the membership and regularly published on the INAHTA website.

INAHTA Checklists is an advantage for all readers to have a clear idea of the nature of the report they are about to read, which in the end helps all the INAHTA members to make better use of each other’s reports.

INAHTA Impact Forms which are some indication of impact on decisions by government at the regional, national or international level. Positive, interim and negative indications of impact are all welcome and published on the INAHTA website.

All INAHTA publications can be found at: http://www.inahta.org/Publications/

How INAHTA works:
Most activities are coordinated by the Secretariat. The membership meets yearly and participates in various working groups throughout the year. The Annual Meeting is held in conjunction with the HTAi Conference. In 2008 SBU was elected to continue to serve as Network Secretariat until 2011. The Executive Committee and Board are elected for 2-year terms.
